The organization’s mission is to protect children against environmental threats to health. The Center supports programs in research, education and patient care. The Pediatric Environmental Health Speciality Unit (PEHSU) within the center provides free consultation for parents who have questions about environmental toxins (1-866-265-6201).

 

4. Commonweal’s Collaborative on Health and the Environment

The Commonweal Health and Environment Program seeks to protect human and ecosystem health from environmental contaminants. Together with climate change, environmental contaminants represent one of the greatest threats to human and ecosystem health of our time. Commonweal takes a science-based approach to the challenge of reducing manmade contaminants in the environment. Their initiatives include the Collaborative on Health and the Environment, Health Care Without Harm, the International POPS Elimination Network and the Commonweal Biomonitoring Resource Center.

the right to be born free of toxic chemicals. MOMS engages in education, advocacy, and corporate campaigns aimed at eliminating the presence

7. Campaign for Safe Cosmetics

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a coalition effort launched in 2004

to protect the health of consumers and workers by securing the corporate, regulatory and legislative reforms necessary to eliminate dangerous chemicals from cosmetics and personal care products. Key nonprofit

coalition partners in the Campaign include the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow, the Breast Cancer Fund, Commonweal, Environmental Working Group, Friends of the Earth and Women’s Voices for the Earth. The Breast Cancer Fund, a national nonprofit organization focused on preventing

breast cancer by identifying and eliminating the environmental links to

the disease, serves as the national coordinator for the Campaign.
