2. Center for Environmental Health



CEH protects people from toxic chemicals and promotes business products and practices that are safe for public health and the environment.


3. Children’s Environmental Health Center, Mount Sinai Hospital



The organization’s mission is to protect children against environmental threats to health. The Center supports programs in research, education and patient care. The Pediatric Environmental Health Speciality Unit (PEHSU) within the center provides free consultation for parents who have questions about environmental toxins (1-866-265-6201).


4. Commonweal’s Collaborative on Health and the Environment



The Commonweal Health and Environment Program seeks to protect human and ecosystem health from environmental contaminants. Together with climate change, environmental contaminants represent one of the greatest threats to human and ecosystem health of our time. Commonweal takes a science-based approach to the challenge of reducing manmade contaminants in the environment. Their initiatives include the Collaborative on Health and the Environment, Health Care Without Harm, the International POPS Elimination Network and the Commonweal Biomonitoring Resource Center.


5. Holistic Moms Network



The Holistic Moms Network is a non-profit organization connecting parents who are interested in holistic health and green living. We encourage moms

to trust their instincts, parent from the heart, live in balance with the Earth, and learn about the pros and cons of all healthcare and parenting options. Living healthy and living green is not an endpoint, but an ongoing journey. We are a diverse and open-minded community, a place where your choices

are respected and where you can learn and become informed. Wherever you are, you can benefit from the wisdom, support, and resources that Holistic Moms have to offer.


6. Making Our Milk Safe



MOMS is a national grassroots movement of mothers working to create a healthier, safer environment for children. We believe that every child has

the right to be born free of toxic chemicals. MOMS engages in education, advocacy, and corporate campaigns aimed at eliminating the presence

of toxic chemicals in our environment, our bodies and our breast milk.


7. Campaign for Safe Cosmetics



The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a coalition effort launched in 2004

to protect the health of consumers and workers by securing the corporate, regulatory and legislative reforms necessary to eliminate dangerous chemicals from cosmetics and personal care products. Key nonprofit

coalition partners in the Campaign include the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow, the Breast Cancer Fund, Commonweal, Environmental Working Group, Friends of the Earth and Women’s Voices for the Earth. The Breast Cancer Fund, a national nonprofit organization focused on preventing

breast cancer by identifying and eliminating the environmental links to

the disease, serves as the national coordinator for the Campaign.
